Sweatshirts
Born as a purely sporty garment, the sweatshirt is one of the most widely worn garments in the world and even though it started out as a sporty item, it is now also assimilated in the most glamorous collections. Timeless the oversize style, for a woman who likes to be fashionable with comfort, the underground style, more or less long, but also in fleece, combined with technical clothing. Zippered, with or without a hood, on our store you can find many solutions on sale and create many combinations, while remaining conveniently online. It was 1925 when it was revisited as a work uniform by the Russell Europe brand as sportswear and then reinvented by Champion with the addition of the hood. But it became fashionable when American college girls started to wear their boyfriends' sweatshirts, ending up in the spotlight of fashion houses that realised its potential. In the 1960s and 1970s, the sweatshirt caught on with the youth rebellion movements of the time, driven by the need to cover one's face with a hood during demonstrations. And in the blink of an eye it became an absolute symbol of protest. In the years that followed, it was the turn of street artists, skaters, writers and rappers, in short, anyone who felt part of the street culture and all the subcultures of the underground, until it became a glam garment, suitable for anyone.
We have seen it worn over a swimming costume at the beach, in pyjamas or to the office for work. What can we say: it is now part of the much-loved everyday outfit with the classic jeans and in the most cult environments such as music and cinema. What is the merit of so much success? Perhaps it is to be found in its softness, practicality and comfort, which are now fundamental elements of modernity that asks us above all to respond to criteria of functionality. Or perhaps it is the immense power of fashion that can transform anything into a symbol of style.
